If you've just stumbled upon this site, then welcome!
You may find the place a bit disorganised, some of the features don't work and none of the forum threads stay on topic for very long. The site owner is forever changing things without telling anybody, frequently crashing the whole site in the process. But hey, that's ADHD!
Feel free to join us, we don't bite (at least not all the time), and between us we've a few years experience of ADHD.

Bugs/Problems: The software used on this page is a beta version and, as you can probably see, much of it is still in development. Many of the links in the side menu point to things (such as the gallery, knowledge base, etc.) that are still not finished (ADHD, see?) - but we'll get there eventually.

| Title: ADHD Couples? |
|
Mon Jan 05, 2009 2:16 pm |
My daughter, age 20, who although undiagnosed shares many of my ADHD symptoms is dating a guy she says may also have ADHD. Although my daughter is undiagnosed, I am sure she has ADHD as I do and I am diagnosed. She is so much like me that she drives my wife crazy.
Her boyfriend of about 6 months apparently has ADHD. It is incredible but they come to our home only occasionally and my daughter said the main reason is that he is bored so easily and there is so much more to do at his house. This includes over a hundred board games, X-Box, Playstation 3, lots of computer games, hot tub etc. While I don't doubt her claim, I find it amazing that anyone would say that there aren't enough distractions at our home. I always thought we had lots, perhaps too many of them.
I am just wondering if there are any ADHD couples in the group or if anyone here knows any couples where both have it? I also wonder what their chance of having a successful relationship is?
They seem to be ver...

| Title: The influence of this forum on dealing with ADHD |
|
Tue Dec 16, 2008 7:31 am |
Hi everyone!
Please let me introduce myself first: my name is Jelmer de Groot and I am doing my bachelor assignment in Communication Science at the University of Twente, in Enschede, Netherlands. The project I am momentarily doing, is about online support groups for people with ADHD.
In this project my focus will be on the role that new media can have when dealing with psychological diseases. New technologies, like PDA’s, computers and the internet, can play a great part in improving healthcare. This forum is a good example of the implementation of new media in dealing with ADHD, since the internet is used to make people with ADHD support eachother.
The main research question I have addressed for my research, is the next: To what extent does this forum contribute to the psychosocial wellbeing of people with ADHD?
The survey can be found on: http://www.thesistools.com/?qid=66359&ln=eng<...

| Title: Need help with a project related to ADHD!! Please help! |
|
Tue Nov 11, 2008 8:14 pm |
Hiya guys,
I am doing a questionnaire for my degree on ADHD, need some points of view from people that have had an experience of ADHD in their lives, and their views on various aspects of ADHD.
Please message me on here or kate1603@hotmail.com and i will send you the questionnaire through email!
No private info will be shared, and dont see it as a test, but as a way of getting your views out into the world! In the UK, apart from through some of the recent media activity, ADHD is not widely accepted within society - and I am hoping that I may address some of the issues through studying it.
Thanks for your time, Kate xx
